1. Lock your venue and date first
Every other decision — guest count, decor scale, catering — is calculated backward from your venue and date. Booking late almost always means overpaying. Secure the venue 8–12 months ahead, especially for peak season (November–February).
2. Set a realistic, itemised budget

3. Hire one accountable team
Coordinating a dozen separate vendors is where weddings go wrong. A complete wedding planner gives you one point of contact and one run-of-show, so nothing falls through the cracks.
4. Prioritise guest experience
Guests remember how they were hosted. Invest in hospitality — room blocks, transfers, welcome kits — so your family isn't fielding logistics calls on the day.
5. Design, don't decorate
A cohesive design language across every function reads as luxury. Random pretty elements do not. Build a moodboard and carry it from invitations to reception.
6. Book entertainment early
Top acts and choreographers fill up fast. Book your entertainment 4–8 months ahead, and lock the choreographer before the DJ so the music follows the sets.
